One-on-One Lactation Support

If breastfeeding becomes difficult or overwhelming, be assured calm and encouraging support is a call or visit away.

Your doula is designated as an East Alabama Medical Center Breastfeeding Counselor. In addition to nursing her two children for a span of 58 total months, she has been formally trained  by an IBCLC at a 20-hour breastfeeding counselor course. The same course is taught to WIC peer breastfeeding counselors and the registered nurses on the Mother/Baby unit. Your doula is trained in recognizing when a problem is serious and requires a referral to a credentialed CLC or IBCLC. Sometimes, breastfeeding problems can be solved by a helping hand, a home visit, and steady, in-person support.  Hourly rate of $35 applies.
